Thanks to the support of readers worldwide (and my own awesome parents [see me and Dad above]), My Parents Were Awesome: The Book is slated to be published by Villard Books (a division of Random House) in late 2010.
While the anthology of essays (and accompanying photos) will mostly contain the work of writers, actors, musicians, bloggers, and artists, we may include up to FIVE full-length submissions from readers like you!
Do you have a clear picture and a great accompanying story about your own parents or grandparents that you could ostensibly fit into an well-written essay of approximately 1,000 words?  Do you want your writing to be in a real, live book?  Then feel free to send your submission to MPWABOOK@GMAIL.COM with “BOOK ENTRY” in the subject line.
Keep in mind that there is no guarantee of publication, nor is there any compensation for your entry.  The deadline for submission is March 26, 2010 at midnight.
However, if you are chosen, you will receive a writing credit and bio right alongside the other contributors, providing you with a) the opportunity to publicly honor and celebrate your very own parents or grandparents and b) something to brag about at cocktail parties, if, in fact, you go to cocktail parties and/or are just a Chatty Cathy.
Good luck!
